DESCRIPTION: Length 8 - 10mm. A readily identified bug that is also known as the Lucerne Bug the main ID features here are the somewhat elongate body, tibial spines that are equal to or greater than the tibia width and a prominent pale cuneus. The thorax has two distinct black dots and the wing membrane is darkened. DISTRIBUTION: Widely distributed throughout the UK in both dry and damp grassland. HABITAT: On variety of legumes such as Restharrow, Clovers and Vetches. PERIOD: July to October. |
